MY Story

Be gentle with me...this is my first time with this, or is it?  We like adventures...lots of adventures! It seems like every walk or hike turns into some kind of wild and crazy story.

My fondest memory is a family trip to Lake George.  We decided to camp and do a Geocache.  It was at French Kiss mountain where I almost rode down the mountain side on a log and my husband lost his boot in the swamp.  For those of you who don't know what a Geocache is, you are a muggle.  Which means: you are unaware of the treasure hunts that go on under your nose.  I will get more into that at a later date and time. Basically, Geocache got my family's fat asses in the wilderness and looking for shit. 😅

Anyway, on this adventure, we started off well.  We stayed on the path, that proved to be WAAAAAYYYY to annoying for my bush-whacking husband😣.  So, instead of going around the mountain to our Geo coordinates, we went straight up the mountain.  At least, that was what we thought we were going to do.  We came to a point where we could not go up any further.  Instead, we had to straddle a HUGE down tree.  So, me being mom and dispensable, I went first.  At this point, my young son and husband says to me, what would you do if that thing went straight down the mountain with you on it?  My reply to them was f@#* you😠! I'm riding this thing down!!!!!

Needless to say, everyone made it across the tree unharmed.  We made it to our treasure spot, logged our achievement, and started to head down the mountain.  GOD FORBID WE FOLLOW THE MARKED TRAIL. No, instead we follow the sounds of cars.  To quote my bush-whacking husband, "I hear cars over here".
Really...really...this is what we are going to do😒! Fine; I will follow this man blindly to the edge of a cliff.  Only to the edge,  not off!😏

As we get closer to the sounds of cars, we come upon a swamp.  To which the bush-whacker insisted we would make it through.  Yeah...the kid and I did, bush-whacker came up short.  As he headed in first, I hear him call for me to help him.  I get to where he is.  He is stuck in mud up to his ankle.  No matter how much he pulled, he could not get his foot out.  I try my best, yanking on him and digging at his foot.  I could not get him out.  Finally, I gave him one hard tug.  I got him out, minus his boot.  You can assume he was covered in mud and you'd be right.

He finally makes it to a bike path, before the kid and I do.  As the kid and I bust through trees, two cyclists come upon the bush-whacker.  The female cyclist says to him, "Are you alright"?😲  My response to her was, "This happens to us ALL THE TIME"! The cyclists were horrified 😬and left me and my family high and muddy on the damn bike trail. 😡
